Physical Focus: Standing Postures
What’s Inside: The class begins with both a Sanskrit and Native American chant honoring the directions of flow in the body and in the world. Beginning on the floor, we attune to the space in all directions around the body and use alternate nostril breathing to center in. This is followed by standing warm-ups that emphasize lateral and rotational movements. We progress to the practice of Sun Salutations interspersed with standing postures and complete the practice with a revolved twist on the floor followed by relaxation.
Key Focus: The relationship between moving into lateral, spiralic and multi-dimensional planes and the way this opens up our consciousness to new choices.
